Hi! I'm Ivannia
I believe that food is more than a meal — it's a story waiting to be told.
I'm a Costa Rica-based food photographer driven by a deep love for food and travel. My mission is to explore the world one dish at a time, working with luxury hotels and fine dining restaurants across Latin America and beyond. Through culinary and hospitality photography, I want to capture the passion and dedication chefs pour into every dish, and the culture that inspires it.
I see every plate as a work of art and seek to create photographs that awaken a deep craving, a sense of wonder, and a desire to be right there at that table, in that moment. The kind of image that stops you mid-scroll — or as I like to call it, "the kind of photo your clients will want to marry."
Available for travel worldwide.
My Story
My story starts with graphic design — and a very fortunate accident.
After earning my Licentiate degree in Advertising Design and completing a specialization in Product Photography at the New England School of Photography in Boston, my first job was at a hospitality company in Costa Rica, where I was hired as a graphic designer. Somewhere along the way, I ended up photographing all their restaurants and hotels — and that was the moment food photography found me. Or maybe I found it. Either way, I never looked back!
Today, I bring craft, intuition, and creative strategy to every shoot. My background in graphic design and my experience working in social media and branding for restaurants have given me something most photographers don’t have: the ability to think like both a brand strategist and a photographer — understanding a brand’s voice, its audience, and how to translate that into images that serve a clear purpose. Most recently, I studied audiovisual production because in today’s visual world, a great image is only part of the story.
Travel has also become an important part of my journey. The first time I packed my camera and crossed a border for a shoot, something shifted. Since then, every new destination has opened my eyes to different ingredients, cultures, and ways of gathering around a table. Photography has become my passport to explore the world.
